A Research Infrastructure and Building Grant for a flume tank system has been awarded to the CE Group and collaborators.  The tank circulates water at pre-determined speeds for observing how specimens (e.g., plants, animals, sediments) respond to controlled physical variables associated with flow. A flume tank is a critical piece of equipment for addressing a broad range of biological, ecological, behavioural and geomorphological questions in an environment that can be manipulated; for example, to represent future climate change scenarios.
