I am a biology student in Colombia currently on exchange at Macquarie. I am interested in biodiversity, conservation, and climate change, particularly in relation to coral reefs and coral diseases. I am doing my undergraduate project on exploring relationships between coral traits and disease susceptibility, as disease is one of the major conservation issues facing coral reefs worldwide. The aim of this project is to study diseases on a broader ecological scale to find patterns that make some coral species more vulnerable to disease than others. I hope to contribute to the knowledge about coral diseases in the Great Barrier Reef.
