Rachael

I am a second year Master of Research student working in the Quantitative Ecology and Evolution lab. I am very passionate about research looking at the effects of anthropogenic impacts on the environment, particularly on coral reefs, and hope to make this my career focus. My current research focuses on coral larval settlement processes and the influence of climate change on this particularly sensitive life history stage, as well as the role of successful settlement in species geographical range shifts. I completed my ADAS Part 1 Scientific Diving qualification earlier this year and hope to incorporate diving into my current and future research.  I aspire to complete a PhD focusing on bottle-necks in coral larval dispersal and how these might influence species success in future environments.
